A Trauma-Informed and Anti-Oppressive Approach

Shauna’s counselling philosophy is rooted in a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive framework. She understands the importance of providing a space where every client feels seen and heard, no matter their background or life experience. Her approach is holistic, integrating mindfulness, self-compassion, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as solution-focused, emotion-focused, and existential therapies. Whether working with adults or youth, Shauna strives to offer a gentle and grounding presence that helps her clients feel safe and supported.

Incorporating 30 Years of Buddhist Practice

With over 30 years of experience studying Buddhism, Shauna can incorporate Buddhist principles into her counselling sessions for those who are seeking a spiritual dimension to their therapy.
